For a while now, Apple has had their eyes on PrimeSense, the developers of the 3D-sensing technology used in the original Kinect for the 360. Today Apple confirmed that they have, indeed, acquired PrimeSense for what’s said to be $360 million. While it’s unclear as to what Apple plans to do with this technology – Apple politely refused to reveal any plans – we know that PrimeSense has developed smaller tech that could be used with tablets and smartphones and, well, basically anything that Apple produces. While Apple hasn’t revealed their plans, I think it’s safe to say that their motives might be a little obvious.
