Since it’s announcement at Gamescom, people have (rightfully) been skeptical about Fighter Within. Ubisoft released a launch trailer earlier today for the new Kinect game that will be launching as an Xbox One exclusive.
Fighter Within uses the Kinect much like all other previous Kinect fighters. Simple movements by the player trigger spectacular actions by the characters in the game. It’s no secret that the majority of Kinect games have bad rep, so it makes sense that not everyone is excited about Fighter Within. Personally, I’m trying to keep an open mind about it. This is the first Kinect game that hasn’t sent up red flags at announcement, and I’m willing to go on that and give it the benefit of the doubt for now. The visuals look amazing, but let’s not allow that to be the only thing that holds our attention. Visuals don’t make a good game. The gameplay mechanics seem simple enough so far, but I suppose only consumer reactions at launch will tell.
Here’s the video so you can form your own opinions. I’ll do my best to keep up with this title and update when I can. For now, play hard.
